Peter Dawson

Peter joined On-Target Management Group in 2024.  He is a seasoned expert in non-profit tax law and has advised many non-profits and funders on how to make tax-smart investments for charitable purposes.  

Peter’s passion is creating, building, and helping businesses run successfully. He has spent his career working with business owners to help them mitigate the numerous risks they face in growing and preserving their wealth. He understands that financial wealth is only one aspect of legacy planning. A large part of wealth preservation involves passing the values of the current generation to succeeding generations. 

Throughout his career, Peter has worked for lobbying firms in Washington, D.C., and Salt Lake City, as well as with several private equity and hedge fund groups. He has been a partner at a boutique independent RIA and private equity firm in Kansas City, and he has worked as a regional VP for a mid-sized life insurance company in the Midwest. 

Peter is a graduate of Utah State University with a degree in Political Science, Creighton University School of Law with a Certificate in Business and Tax Planning, and The American College with a Certificate in Special-Needs Planning. 

Peter currently resides in Santa Clara, Utah, with his wife and three daughters.
